About
Paul Maven Photography provides outstanding wedding photography, portraiture and commercial photography in Harrogate and across Yorkshire.
Having studied photography to MA level, Paul began his career as a wedding photographer in the North East before moving to Harrogate, North Yorkshire. He has built up a fantastic portfolio of wedding photography at some of the most prestigious wedding venues across Harrogate, Yorkshire and further afield.
Style
Paul creates timeless photography with a creative twist, blending traditional and contemporary reportage wedding photography with posed shots. His contemporary style reflects his experience in photojournalism and fine art photography.
He often works with the architecture of the venue or the natural surroundings to produce original and atmospheric images that capture the spirit of each individual wedding.
Approach
One of the secrets of successful wedding photography is careful planning and Paul works closely with the bride and groom to ensure that every detail is covered. He meets couples before the wedding at least twice, including a consultation and a meeting at the venue with a pre-wedding shoot. This helps to put the bride and groom at ease and ensures that everything runs smoothly on the day. After the wedding, couples can work with him to help design their own album and with face-to-face or online proofing, they can have as much or as little involvement in the process as they wish.
All weddings benefit from two photographers as Paul works alongside female wedding photographer Nicky Rogerson. This allows additional photos to be captured, from two different angles without taking up more time. Brides also find it helpful to have a female photographer available for the 'getting ready' shots.
